Semi Accident Kills Driver East of Fort Dodge

At approximately 3:30PM on Thursday, December 29th, 2011, Iowa State Patrol and Webster County Sherriff were called to a crash involving a semi on Highway 20, about 5 miles East of Fort Dodge. 

A semi, owned by KVLZ in Climbing Hill, Iowa, driven by Gary Sulsberger (44) of Rodney, Iowa was Eastbound on Highway 20. Sulsberger drove into the median, went in between two guardrails, and then struck the drainage ditch embankment. 

Sulsberger was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center by Vincent Rescue for further examination.

Region 5 Hazmat was called in for diesel leaking from the truck. 

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Webster County Sheriff Department, Duncombe Fire, and Vincent Rescue.
